When I decided to start my online shop, I also started creating my own quilt designs. And suddenly I began to see geometric designs and color patterns everywhere!
When I was in Paris last month, enjoying the incredible art and architecture, I found myself repeatedly taking photos of things purely for their color and their geometric formations and dreaming up quilts.
I especially found medieval art and architecture to have especially strong lines and brilliant hues.
I love the lines that make up the ceiling vaulting on this small chapel:
And this rosette window! Amazing lines and gorgeous, brilliant colors:

Flat spaces, strong lines, brilliant colors...now, how do I turn these into quilts?

I absolutely adore the lines and shapes of medieval architecture too. I'd be very interested to see how these would look at quilts! ;)
I would be interested to too, morrgan!! My imagination is rolling...I'm wanting to make a line a quilts inspired by fine art, including one inspired by stained glass windows and cathedral vaulting! I can see colorful stars, and intricate crosshatching lines...got to start sketching!
I do the same thing. I have many photos of architectural things. Windows, doors, floor tiles, door knockers, signs. There are just not enough hours in a day!
