My brother has a thing for sock monkeys.
I'm not quite sure why, but I think it stems from the Chris Elliott movie "Cabin Boy." If you're not familiar with the film...well, that's probably a good thing. When my sister and mother went and saw it after my brother raved about the genius of Chris Elliott, they went back to my brother and demanded their money back from him. There is one part where I laugh...the sock monkey part with David Letterman. And, don't worry, it's only about 15 minutes into the movie so you don't have to watch the whole thing to see it.
And when my brother first met my husband over a Christmas break back when we were dating, the two of them instantly bonded when my husband gave him red-heel socks with directions to turn them into a sock monkey. Which my brother did with my mother's help.
Sooo...
When my brother had his first child back in January, I knew exactly what to make for my new nephew...A sock monkey quilt!
Awww...
...isn't he cute?
And the quilt's cute, too, if I do say so myself!
But, sorry...this monkey's not actually for sale. My nephew decided it's a keeper.

My favorite part of that story is that they went to the dollar movies on $.50 night and they still wanted their money back.
