the story of quilts

I am fascinated by the history of quilts! The more I learn, the more fascinated I get!

I decided everyone else should know how fascinating they are! So I wrote and submitted a short article about quilts and quilting and the stories they tell for the Etsy zine, The Storque. And guess what? They published it!!

Please take a some time to read it here!

One of my favorite parts of writing and researching the article was discovering the stories quilts tell about other people and the way they symbolize memories for us. I would love to hear even more of these stories, so please leave a comment and share!

Do you own a quilt? What story does it tell?

Lovely Storque article. I became really interested in quilts when I appeared in a show called "Quilters."

We have a few heirloom quilts from my mom's grannie, and they are very precious.

Every night since we got married, my husband and I have slept under the gorgeous quilt my sister gave us for our wedding. Now that it's getting colder, we've added the beautiful quilt my mother made me 10 years ago. Oh, the wonderful women in my family and the wonderful quilts they make...
